Jackson teen Gianna
Isabella's fate is now in America's hands. The farewell season of
"American Idol" has reached its bread and butter rounds, where the
remaining 14 contestants are eliminated based on viewers' voting whims. But
"Idol" didn't relinquish full control Wednesday. Four of the Top 14 —
Dalton Rapattoni, Olivia Rox, La'Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon — advanced to
the Top 10 on judges' "Fast Pass" discretion and did not sing for
America's vote this night. The episode's remaining 10 hopefuls — including Gianna
Isabella — performed the favorite tunes they've already performed so far in the
competition. The top six vote-getters will join the judges' picks Thursday
night to comprise the Top 10. Each will then perform again. And on Wednesday,
Gianna was much improved in her stage presence and vocal control, and was among
the night's best. Let's break it down.
