Eagles co-founder Glenn
Frey, who died
in January at 67, received a stirring tribute Monday night at the Grammys.
Frey’s fellow Eagles co-founders Don Henley and Bernie Leadon, other Eagles
members Joe Walsh and Tim Schmit, and singer-songwriter Jackson Browne
performed the band’s classic song “Take It Easy.” But the lineup didn’t include
former Eagles guitarist Don Felder, who took to Twitter Tuesday morning to
share his thoughts about being omitted. I would have been honored to have
joined The Eagles last night for the Glenn Frey Tribute at the Grammys but
sadly I was not invited. “I would have been honored to have joined The Eagles

invited,” he wrote.
Felder performed with
the band from 1974 to 1980 and on reunion tours from 1994 to 2001. He had a
famously sour relationship with Frey: In the 1980 concert that marked the end
of the group’s initial run, Frey and Felder reportedly taunted each other
from across stage and brawled after the music ended. And while he initially
joined the reformed group, Felder was later fired from the band and became embroiled in a
series of legal battles with his former peers, including Frey.
