U.S. Rep. Debbie
Dingell delivered handmade Valentine's Day cards Sunday afternoon to veterans
at the Veterans Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Dingell, D-Dearborn,
distributed the cards, made by local students participating in a
"Valentines for Veterans" project to show their love and appreciation
for those who have served in the military. "This is a very nice way to
tell the veterans 'Thank you for your service'." said Debra Geppert,
associate chief of nurse operation.
Valentine's Day is the
first day of the annual National Salute to Veteran Patients Week. VA hospitals
across the country will open doors for communities show appreciation to the
veterans and learn about volunteering opportunities.
